This year’s Photokina Show is taking place in Cologne, Germany Sept. 23 – 28, 2008. Obviously, the show is already underway at the time of this writing. Important announcements include: Nikon 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor AF-S Nikkor Lens due out in December, Tokina has announced that it will add a line of lenses with Nikon AF-S motors, and the META Working Group has announced it’s first guidline for photo meta data. Unfortunately, Nikon is not a collaborator of this group for some reason.
Coverage of the new Nikon D90 is available at kenrockwell.com, dpreview.com, and www.photokina-show.com. From the sound of some recent reviews out there, the D90 may be better than Nikon’s year-old predacessors the D300 and D3 which sell for as much as 5 times what the D90 is retailing at.
Coverage of Photokina 2008 is also available from kenrockwell.com and dpreview.com .
